Humans are often described as creatures of habit. So staying true to that philosophy, here’s my third blog for a third week in a row about the business symposium. Overall, I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the networking aspect, with both students and professionals. I think because I got to practice my soft skills, like shaking hands, and just introducing myself. It was also interesting to see how different the ISM programs are at different FISD schools. I only found 1 person who was interested in the same career path as me, but we exchanged contact information, so we can help each other out. I think I’m also supposed to start reaching out to people and interviewing them. Honestly, I’m a little confused on what I actually interview about. Is it just practicing interviewing, or is it asking them to be my mentor? For example, I have some people I don’t really want to be my mentors, so what do I ask them? I assume it’s just practice. Either way I’m happy to practice my interview skills, because I know I’ll need them one day.
