10/1/18

This week in ISM was pretty uneventful, just a lot of preparation for the business symposium. And yet with days of preparation, I still have no idea what’s going on. Logistically, of course, I know what’s happening, but in a more realistic sense I feel like I’m being thrown in the lions den a little. I still don’t know what I should be expecting. I think it’s a lot of interviewing, both me getting interviewed and interviewing someone. If that’s true, how should I know what questions to ask? I'll prepare for both outcomes, but I don’t really like that feeling of not knowing what I’m walking into. I do hope, however, that I get more comfortable with interviewing strangers, and interviewing in general. Other than that, I don’t have much to write about. I’ll have to start calling contacts soon, which I’m a little nervous about. I have decided to call the people I don’t know first, that way I won’t embarrass myself as much with the people I do know. A lot of the warm calls that I have, I do know the people pretty well. Most of them are old band directors I’ve had, so they’re people I’m pretty comfortable with.
